The idea for Acelerun Technologies was born at the peak of the global pandemic in 2020, a time when streaming content consumption skyrocketed to unprecedented levels due to global lockdowns. The sudden and massive surge in demand revealed a critical vulnerability in the digital infrastructure: most platforms and streaming service providers could not guarantee efficient, uninterrupted content delivery. Network overload caused buffering, quality drops, and widespread user frustration.
However, a deeper, more urgent concern was added to this efficiency crisis: the threat to free access to information. We observed instances where third parties were restricting or limiting access to content, often by targeting established global CDN companies. This was done under various pretexts, but the effect was a clear limitation of digital freedom.
Our founders, a team of network engineers and data optimisation experts, saw a dual mission in this: we needed not just a faster network, but a network that was resilient to external restrictions. They set out to create a solution that went beyond the capabilities of standard CDNs, developing technology that could identify and create dynamic, optimised data paths to bypass not only congestion bottlenecks but also intentional access limitations.
